This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and other applicable laws.

Data we collect

We collect information you provide directly, including:

  • Portfolio data — properties, units, tenants, leases, and payment records you enter into TenancyCo.
  • Billing information processed by our payment providers.

We also collect limited technical information automatically, such as device type, browser, IP address, and usage analytics, to keep the platform secure and reliable.

How we use it

  • To process payments and generate invoices on your behalf.
  • To communicate with you about your account, billing, and support requests.
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate TenancyCo (such as hosting and payment processors), under contractual confidentiality obligations.

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. You can request deletion of your account data at any time, subject to statutory retention periods.

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal obligations.
  • Object to processing of your information for certain purposes.
